Who I Am
Welcome to my website! I’m excited to share my journey with you and invite you to explore more about my work, teaching, and the inspiration behind it.
My name is Cheyenne Frausto- I am a passionate artist, educator, and nature lover. In my personal artwork, I love experimenting with different materials—whether it’s the tactile embrace of clay, the vibrant strokes of paint, or the delicate intricacies of crafting. I am especially drawn to creating whimsical pieces that blend elements of nature, such as animal bones, taxidermized insects, and preserved plants. There’s a certain magic I aim to weave into every piece, inviting a sense of beauty and wonder into the world. As an avid reader, I also find inspiration in the fantastical worlds talented authors create, which often influences my work as well.
In May of 2022 I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a BFA in Art Education, a concentration in Drawing and Painting, and a minor in Art History. My education not only deepened my mastery of technique but also reinforced my passion for sharing art with others and helping students discover their own creative paths. I’ve been teaching art for three years now, and have had the pleasure of working with children of all ages since 2019. I currently teach 7th and 8th graders in general art classes and grades 9-12 in digital art classes. When the school day ends, I run after school programs twice a week for students in grades 3-6, and 7-12. During school breaks, I teach a range of art classes for kids, including hand building and wheel throwing, stop motion animation, and mixed media arts.
Beyond the studio, I am deeply connected to the outdoors, finding solace and inspiration through my adventures. I spend as much time as I can in nature, and as often as the opportunity allows itself, I go on solo journeys to reconnect with myself to the natural world without the distractions of others. Nature is my ever-present muse, and it’s where I discover the quiet beauty that fuels my creativity.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work and learn more about my journey. I hope you find inspiration here, and if you ever want to connect, whether about art or the wonders of nature, feel free to reach out. I'm grateful for your visit and excited to share this creative adventure with you!
